July 8 - Bike Ride!

We had such a fun day today! We've started getting used to the schedule- with siestas and big lunches. I think I speak for every girl when I say I've tried some unique dishes, some very delicious and some a little too interesting for me.

The afternoon activity was a bike tour, where we saw the Rio Tormes and the Roman Bridge. A light breeze against the hot sun felt amazing as we rode down the bike path along the river. Our families packed "bocadillos" for us (snacks) for a picnic at the end of the trail.

After the activity and dinner, we met up in the Plaza Mayor and people watched. The dessert in the pictures below was something we bought so we could watch the World Cup game on the screens outside restaurants! It tasted wonderful with really rich layers of chocolate.

Our trip is fantastic so far and we are learning so much about the Spanish language and culture. There is definitely no better way to learn Spanish than to literally be in Spain!
