Sunday, July 13

Sunday was our most relaxing day yet. Many of us decided to sleep in after our busy day in Segovia on Saturday. After a nice rest, we all met for mass at Sotomayor chapel, which is part of a church run by Dominicans. Each of us had a role in the mass. Amanda and Daniela read the readings and the rest of us wrote petitions for the world, Spain, the United States, Dallas, and Salamanca. After mass, Brother Octavio gave us a tour of the Dominican monastery, which is attached to the chapel. We especially enjoyed the staircase which was decorated with many flowers, all of which were unique.

For lunch we ate with our host families. Rachel and I went with our host mom to a restaurant where we enjoyed some delicious paella. After our lunch, a group of us ventured off to the pool. We had to take a bus to get there, so we all got some experience learning how the bus system works. At the pool, we enjoyed the sun and the shade because the pool was pretty cold.

Another bus ride took us back to our houses where we ate dinner and got ready to watch the World Cup Final in the Plaza Mayor. Watching the World Cup Final was a great end to a great day.
